Job summary

Smiths News seeks a Morrisons Books Merchandiser in Middlesbrough to ensure in-store book displays are visually appealing, stocked, and aligned with client expectations. This hands-on role requires attention to detail, organisation, and strong communication.

The position offers flexibility with 5–20 hours per week, mostly on Mondays and Thursdays, and requires a full UK driving licence with a vehicle. Travel time and mileage may be payable where eligible.

Responsibilities

• Stock Replenishment & Display: Move stock from warehouse to shop floor and ensure displays are high quality.
• Planogram Compliance: Implement planograms and visual briefs accurately.
• Promotional Execution: Set up POS displays and price labels for campaigns.
• Reporting & Communication: Use company device/app to access briefs, upload photos, and give feedback.
• Relationship Building: Build positive relationships with store managers and colleagues.

Morrisons Books Merchandiser - Middlesborough

Flexible, part time contract

Pay Rate - £14.24 Per hour (includes Holiday Pay)

Travel time and mileage are payable subject to eligibility

Plus: Location Allowance if applicable

Full UK Driving licence plus use of vehicle required.

We offer an average of 5-20 hours per week (not guaranteed)

Working Pattern:

• Mondays (including Bank Holidays)


• Thursdays (selected stores)


• All calls to be completed before 12:00pm

Contract Type: Flexible, part-time (zero-hour)

About the Role

As a Books Merchandiser, you will play a key role in ensuring in-store book displays are visually appealing, fully stocked, and aligned to client expectations. This is a hands‑on role where attention to detail, organisation, and strong communication are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Stock Replenishment & Display
  Move stock from the warehouse to the shop floor, organise shelves, and ensure products are fully replenished and presented to a high standard.


• Planogram Compliance
  Accurately implement planograms and visual briefs to ensure all displays meet required layouts and standards.


• Promotional Execution
  Set up promotional materials, price labels, and point-of-sale (POS) displays to support campaigns and drive sales.


• Reporting & Communication
  Use a company device or mobile app to access briefs, record activity, upload photos, and provide feedback to client teams.


• Relationship Building
  Build positive working relationships with store managers and colleagues to ensure smooth and effective in‑store activity.
