Job summary

Morrisons is seeking a part-time Books Merchandiser for Barnard Castle to ensure in-store displays are visually appealing, fully stocked, and aligned with client expectations.

This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to work independently. Hours average 5–20 per week with shifts on Mondays and Thursdays, using a company device to report activity, with mileage and travel time payable where eligible.

Qualifications

• Previous merchandising experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with good organisational skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Stock replenishment and display moves from the warehouse to the shop floor and presents products to a high standard.
• Planogram compliance: implement planograms and visual briefs accurately.
• Set up promotional materials, price labels, and POS displays to support campaigns.
• Record activity using a company device or mobile app and provide feedback to client teams.
• Build positive relationships with store managers and colleagues to ensure smooth in-store activity.

Flexible, part time contract

Pay Rate - £14.24 Per hour (includes Holiday Pay)

Travel time and mileage are payable subject to eligibility

Plus: Location Allowance if applicable

Full UK Driving licence plus use of vehicle required.

We offer an average of 5-20 hours per week (not guaranteed)

Working Pattern:

• Mondays (including Bank Holidays)
• Thursdays (selected stores)
• All calls to be completed before 12:00pm

Contract Type: Flexible, part-time (zero-hour)

About the Role

As a Books Merchandiser, you will play a key role in ensuring in-store book displays are visually appealing, fully stocked, and aligned to client expectations. This is a hands-on role where attention to detail, organisation, and strong communication are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Stock Replenishment & Display Move stock from the warehouse to the shop floor, organise shelves, and ensure products are fully replenished and presented to a high standard.
• Planogram Compliance Accurately implement planograms and visual briefs to ensure all displays meet required layouts and standards.
• Promotional Execution Set up promotional materials, price labels, and point-of-sale (POS) displays to support campaigns and drive sales.
• Reporting & Communication Use a company device or mobile app to access briefs, record activity, upload photos, and provide feedback to client teams.
• Relationship Building Build positive working relationships with store managers and colleagues to ensure smooth and effective in-store activity.

Previous merchandising experience is beneficial but not essential. More importantly, you will be:

• Based within 15 miles of the advertised area
