Job summary

Booker is hiring a Merchandiser to join the Retail Merchandising team. This full-time, field-based role spans 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, covering multiple locations across the North East, North West, Yorkshire, North Wales and Cumbria, with occasional projects elsewhere.

The role involves regular travel; a car allowance is provided (£5,000–£8,000 per annum, depending on mileage). You will work with regional teams to implement planograms and promotions across stores.

Qualifications

• Strong merchandising knowledge and ability to plan store layouts.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with internal and external teams.
• Ability to travel regularly across multiple sites within the region.

Responsibilities

• Work with Regional Development teams to ensure stores are merchandised to the correct planograms.
• Create and place retailer orders to maintain stock availability during merchandising programs.
• Install store imagery and POS per latest promotions.
• Collaborate with retailers and store teams on merchandising best practices.
• Ensure policies and procedures keep the site health-and-safety compliant at all times.
• Contribute to regional category initiatives.
• Manage external resources when needed.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Merchandiser to join our Retail Merchandising team. This is a full-time, field-based role working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

This role involves regular travel across multiple locations within the North East, North West, Yorkshire, North Wales and Cumbria, with occasional overnight stays where required. There may also be times when you'll be asked to support projects in other regions as part of the wider Merchandising team.

Due to the geographical area covered and the frequency of travel between sites, you'll need to be able to travel efficiently and reliably to locations across the region.

A car allowance of £5,000 - £8,000 per annum will be offered, dependent on mileage.

You will be responsible for

• Working with the Regional Development teams to ensure each store is merchandised to the correct planograms for the brand and the store is set up and ready for opening.
• Creating and placing retailer's orders to deliver stock availability during merchandising programs.
• Installing required store imagery and POS for the brand in accordance to the latest promotions.
• Working with retailers and store teams in all aspects of merchandising best practice.
• Ensuring sustainability of policies, processes and procedures ensure the site is HSL at all times.
• Contributing to category initiatives for the region.
• Managing any additional resources such as agency should the store require additional resources outside of Booker.

You will need

• Ability to travel regularly and reliably between multiple sites across the region. Please make us aware of any adjustments you may need to support your application for this role. You will be provided a car allowance.
• Excellent communication skills are important, as well as the ability to build strong internal and external customer relationships.
• Experience in a similar Merchandising role would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of the following would be advantageous: Epos, Green Tickets, Buying and Delivering Schedules.
• Experience within Project Management would be highly desirable.
