Job description

Zachary Daniels is working with a leading multi-channel retailer based in the North West that is looking to expand its Merchandising department by adding an experienced Merchandiser. This is a key role responsible for leading their largest area in clothing, during an exciting period of growth for the company.

Role Overview:

The Merchandiser will lead the team to deliver all Channel Sales, Markdown, Stock, Intake, and Profit Plans, while driving business change to meet company goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review previous season with the Buyer and implement lessons learned.
  • Create departmental strategy in collaboration with the Buyer.
  • Approve proposed grading from the trading Merchandiser for assortment planning.
  • Develop quarterly plans at the Category/Season level with the Buyer, ensuring the plan reflects the optimal product mix to meet KPIs.
  • Formulate range plans at the Store level quarterly with the Buyer.
  • Plan pre-scheduling to meet the range plan in conjunction with Assistant Merchandisers.
  • Review weekly trading performance and KPIs, identifying issues and planning corrective actions.
  • Propose and agree on actions to recover risks and maximize opportunities with the Buyer at category and line levels.
  • Capture all agreed actions in monthly forecast reviews.
  • Gain approval for forecasts, including sales variance analysis, creation of OTBs, and management of commitments such as on-time delivery, rebuys, and cancellations.
  • Manage the range plan during the season, reflecting any changes.
  • Establish collaborative relationships across functions including Online, Marketing, Finance, DC, and Stores.

This role is trade-focused, requiring a passion for product and a collaborative approach with the Buyer to drive sales nationwide.
