MEP Senior Quantity Surveyor responsible for both the Contract and Subcontract administration of Design & Build suppliers. Will work within the MEP commercial team and closely with all sections of the MEP Team.

This role reports to the MEP Commercial Manager. The MEP Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee the commercial MEP fit-out across HS2 S1 and S2 lots.

The location is split between North Acon and West Ruislip portal: 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home.

Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Main contract management and administration
  2. Supply chain management, including contract administration
  3. Cost capture and control, including completion of the CLR
  4. Commercial reporting
  5. Aid in cash management
  6. Liaise and negotiate with the client’s commercial and project teams
  7. Establish and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  8. Assist the commercial manager in preparing and issuing periodic valuations and reports according to deadlines
  9. Ensure commercial records are maintained as per contract requirements and oversee contractual issues
  10. Provide guidance and support to the commercial team, developing staff skills and competencies for succession planning
  11. Comment on and draft subcontract works information and tender documentation
  12. Draft subcontract data and assess subcontract scope to draft pricing schedules
  13. Review tender documentation for consistency and compatibility with contractual and project requirements
  14. Assist the commercial manager in setting strategies for and responding to tender queries
  15. Oversee subcontracts for governance and execution
  16. Provide commercial support for significant subcontract packages through to final certification
  17. Assist with budget setting, forecasting, and reporting
  18. Support the MEP team in the ECI subcontract through the design phase and contract negotiations
  19. Identify MEP delivery team resource requirements and assist in recruiting necessary resources
  20. Contribute to MEP-related procurement to ensure timely delivery
  21. Support the development and submission of construction phase plans for MEP works
Desired Skills and Experience
  1. Minimum 3 years of Senior Quantity Surveying experience
  2. Experience managing MEP, Buildings, or Design packages
  3. Post-graduate commercial experience in construction with a demonstrable track record
  4. CSCS card
  5. Financial and commercial acumen
  6. Negotiating and team-working skills to motivate and lead teams
  7. Experience in technical minute taking, reports, payment certificates, and financial closeout reports
  8. Legal, contractual, and construction knowledge
  9. Experience implementing strategic objectives and change programmes
  10. Developing & implementing procurement and contract strategies
  11. Creative, strategic, and innovative problem-solving skills
  12. Strong analytical skills
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
  1. Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar
  2. MRICS or MCInstCES preferred but not essential
