Job description

Client: My client is a mechanical and electrical building services contractor specialising in high-end residential projects across London and the home counties. Trading for over 20 years, our client is recognised as a market-leading MEP Super Prime Residential contractor. Projects typically range from £2m to £5m+ MEP value. Developing good working relationships with clients is key to their success.

As a result, they benefit from a large amount of repeat business. The majority of their client base comes through personal recommendations, referrals, and repeat business, including numerous Tier 1 Residential Contractors. Due to a period of sustained growth in turnover, they are actively recruiting for their operational team. They seek the following:

Role: MEP Project Manager

Salary: £325-£350 per day or £70,000-£75,000 annually

Our client is open to Project Managers with mechanical or electrical bias, provided they have extensive experience managing mixed services on residential projects. The project involves a large penthouse refurbishment valued at approximately £3.5m M&E.

Responsibilities:

1. Procurement of kit
2. Follow the Contractor’s construction programme
3. Value Engineering where applicable
4. Health & Safety management (RAMs)
5. Technical submittals
6. Commercial responsibilities, working alongside the Quantity Surveyor
7. Team coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers, and supervisors)
8. Progress meetings
9. Overseeing commissioning stages
10. Formulation of OM Manuals and client handover

The ideal candidate:

• Extensive experience managing mixed services
• Experience working in the residential sector
• Demonstrated longevity in previous roles
• Strong relationship management, team coordination, and project reporting skills
