MEP Design Manager
John Sisk & Son are delighted to be working on a cutting-edge development. As an experienced Design Manager, you will work on exciting Data Centre projects, utilizing innovative processes to ensure the highest possible efficiency and quality.
You will be:
- Ensuring the design management procedures are followed and implemented appropriately on the projects. This includes production and maintenance of the DRM, design programme, RFI schedule, MIDP (in conjunction with the CDE), IRS, statutory condition trackers, design change and risk trackers, and design documentation required to achieve practical completion.
- Taking ownership of design-related items within the tender process or during the construction phase, including producing written narratives or presentation materials.
- Participating in the selection of the design team, including producing the design team appointments (consultant and subcontractor), whether directly employed or split responsibilities in traditional setups, including DRM, scope, MIDP, programme, and fee.
- Understanding and providing solutions for 'strategic design' items within tender/construction documents, aligning with company procedures and considering planning, building control/BCAR, third-party requirements, and brand standards.
- Ensuring the design considers health & safety, sustainability, and quality aspects.
- Collaborating with the site team (including QS) to explore alternative design solutions, including MMC.
You will have:
- A Degree Level 6 qualification in architecture, engineering, building services, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- Desirable experience in CDE, BIM, and planning software.
- Desirable training and experience with sustainability accreditation and H&S.
- Experience with site/delivery, commercial, and contract procedures.
- Understanding of building regulations/BCAR, planning permission, and PSDP procedures.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Desirable HSE / Acute hospital experience.
