Job description

Kier Group is seeking an MEP Design Manager to join a major project at HMP Channings Wood in Newton Abbot.

The role will primarily focus on MEP Design delivery for this project but may also extend to the wider region.

Location: Newton Abbot, South Devon.

Contract: Full-time, Permanent. Flexible working arrangements available.

Responsibilities

• Supporting profitable tender generation and submission, enhancing order pipeline, and increasing market share, revenue, and profit.
• Providing MEP design solutions that exceed customer requirements, managing risks, and seeking value engineering opportunities to maximise gross profit.
• Implementing Kier Group policies (SHE, risk management, solution design) and promoting the company's values to align with customer expectations.
• Overseeing design activities, collaborating with project management and construction teams, and supporting a workplace culture focused on employee wellbeing and career development.

Qualifications

This role is suitable for candidates with:

• Design Management experience within a contracting or consultancy environment.
• Experience managing MEP Design.
• Knowledge of various contract types, such as JCT and NEC.
• The ability to work collaboratively across multiple projects.
