Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an MEP Senior Cost Manager, to join our busy Real Estate team in our London office. Supporting our clients to deliver projects and programmes across various sectors.

The role involves leading the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) specific deliverables within larger projects or managing direct MEP commissions, such as asset upgrade works.

The candidate must be self-motivated, client-facing (internal & external), with the ability to manage multiple projects and clients. Responsibilities include establishing early budgets, estimating, cost planning, managing design teams, tendering, procurement, and post-contract reporting. The role also involves managing other Assistant and Cost Managers within the MEP team.

A solid knowledge of MEP systems and supply chains is essential, with the ability to work collaboratively and robustly with main contractors and their MEP supply chains.

The successful candidate will mentor colleagues, develop MEP digital systems & tools, promote MEP within Turner & Townsend, and engage with the MEP community (engineers, contractors, manufacturers, etc).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Managing commissions, including feasibility studies and procurement reports
• Estimating and cost planning, presenting final cost plans to clients
• Tendering and procurement management
• Handling post-contract cost variances and change control
• Performing cost checks and valuations on projects
• Producing and presenting monthly post-contract cost reports
• Contributing to value engineering
• Negotiating final accounts
• Interfacing with clients and consultants at all project stages
• Leading a cost management team where appropriate

Experience and Skills:

• Proven track record in delivering high-quality cost management/quantity surveying services
• Professional qualification (RICS or similar) or working towards it
• Degree or HNC qualification
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Experience with MEP elements for clients
• Knowledge of MEP supply chain contacts
• Experience with digital cost management software
• Strong negotiation skills
• Excellent communication skills, client-facing and team-based
