An exciting opportunity has arisen for a MEP Senior Cost Manager to join our busy Real Estate team in our London office. The role involves supporting our clients to deliver projects and programmes across various sectors.

The main focus will be leading on Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) deliverables within larger projects or managing direct MEP commissions, such as asset upgrades.

The candidate must be self-motivated, client-facing (internal & external), capable of managing multiple projects and clients. Responsibilities include establishing early budgets, estimating, cost planning, managing design teams to budgets, tendering, procurement, and post-contract reporting. The role also involves managing other Assistant and Cost Managers within the MEP team.

A good knowledge of MEP systems and supply chains is essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively and robustly with main contractors and their MEP supply chains.

The successful candidate will mentor colleagues, help develop MEP digital systems & tools, promote MEP within Turner & Townsend, and engage with the MEP community (engineers, contractors, manufacturers, etc.).

Key Accountabilities:

• Managing commissions, including feasibility studies, procurement reports, estimating, cost planning, tendering, and procurement processes.
• Handling post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
• Conducting cost checks and valuations on projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Producing and presenting monthly post-contract cost reports.
• Contributing to value engineering and negotiating final accounts.
• Interfacing with clients and consultants throughout project stages.
• Leading a cost management team when appropriate.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

• Proven track record in delivering high-quality cost management/quantity surveying services across project lifecycles.
• Professional qualification (RICS or similar) or working towards it.
• Degree or HNC qualification.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
• Experience with delivering MEP elements for clients.
• Knowledge of MEP supply chain contacts.
• Experience with digital cost management software.
• Commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both client-facing and team-oriented.
