Job summary

GENEDGE is seeking a Center Director for the MEP Center to lead operations and mentor staff, overseeing programs and services across Virginia. The role requires significant overnight travel within Virginia and regionally, with a hybrid work model and offices in Martinsville, Richmond, and Newport News.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Center Director will manage a team of advisors, drive client development, and collaborate on partnerships and grants to support client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, manufacturing, or business; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in manufacturing or related field with 5+ years in senior leadership and P&L.
• 3+ years of professional services experience.
• Experience engaging with legislative bodies and securing funding from non-NIST federal agencies.
• Proven leadership and mentorship of teams to achieve operational excellence.
• Working knowledge of processes such as product development, cost accounting, logistics, quality, supply chain, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the MEP Center and drive client development.
• Develop and execute the client services portion of the operating plan and set staff priorities.
• Mentor a team of business advisors and SMEs to drive client engagement and meet fee targets.
• Manage statewide events and partnerships to support client development.
• Develop statewide network of SMEs and partners to support projects, trainings, and events.
• Collaborate to align resource needs for high-quality service delivery.
• Oversee continuous learning and improvement activities for the organization.
• Ensure delivery quality meets client expectations.
• Account for program and project time of delivery resources and deliverables.
• Manage relationships with NIST-MEP and support reporting and closure.
• Maximize client impact and develop case studies.
• Develop and manage senior client relationships.
• Collaborate on partnerships and grants to support client development.
• Identify opportunities for innovation in advanced manufacturing and supply chain resilience.
• Prepare quarterly board presentations and engage in legislative advocacy.
• Lead development of new programs aligned with client needs.
• Promote data-driven evaluation of program impact.
