Job summary

Nottingham Community Housing Association is seeking a Support Worker at Watson Road to provide person-centred, face-to-face support to adults with enduring mental health needs. The role involves helping with tenancies, finances and daily living, plus building skills for independence.

You will work early and late shifts, with sleep-ins and lone working. Comprehensive training and ongoing support are provided; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Understanding of needs of vulnerable adults and complex behaviours.
• Organised, proactive, flexible and supportive approach.
• Resilience and creativity in promoting positive change.
• Effective communication with professionals and agencies.
• Basic IT skills for record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face support tailored to each person's needs, including community visits.
• Support tenancy management, finances and home care.
• Promote daily living skills, budgeting and wellbeing.
• Write and review risk assessments.
• Follow safeguarding procedures, legislation and health and safety standards.
• Build relationships with families, social workers and other professionals.
• Administer medication.
• Coordinate shifts on a rota basis.
• Maintain accurate records on IT systems.
• Undertake some lone working.
