Belmont Recruitment are currently in search of a Mental Health Support Worker / Health Care Assistant (SW/HCA) Band 2-3 to join the Learning Disability Mental Health Team, based out of Little Plumstead in Norwich. The role is working shifts between 7:00am – 2:00pm and 1:00pm – 8:00pm available 7 days a week; however, there is scope for longer days and flexibility so applicants who cannot work full time are still encouraged to apply. This is initially on an ongoing locum basis, however, this will most likely be made permanent.
The post holder would be responsible for supporting adults with a learning disability who have associated mental health problems, epilepsy, and/or behaviours of concern. We wish to recruit individuals who are flexible, enthusiastic, and have a positive caring attitude towards our client group. The role will be varied and will include all aspects of care from implementing care plan delivery systems to promoting choice and client’s independence. Our clients are looking for someone who will listen to them, help them, make them feel safe, and support them to go out in the community as part of their treatment plans. Due to the complex nature of the client group, experience of working with people with learning disabilities is desirable for this post, though a full induction will be given and additional training as identified/required.
The pay rate for this locum role is between £11.16-£12.16 per hour days depending on experience; however, this is open for negotiation for someone with years of experience.
