Mental Health Support Worker - Scarborough

Mental Health Support Worker

Scarborough

£7,891.07 per annum, pay award pending (£26,542,68 FTE)

11 hours per week (inc Wednesday morning but flexibility on the remaining hours)

Role Purpose:

Broadacres Housing Association is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our Support Services team in Broadacres. The Mental Health Support Worker will be responsible for providing practical and emotional support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges in order to help them achieve their personal goals and improve their overall well-being.

What You’ll Be Doing:

- Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals receiving support, their families, and other professionals involved in their care

- Assist customers with tenancy related support

- Support customers in accessing community resources, including medical services, social activities, and educational opportunities

- Provide emotional support and crisis intervention as needed

- Create and implement individualised support plans based on the needs and goals of each individual

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of support provided and progress made by individuals

- Collaborate with other members of the Support Services team to ensure the holistic care of individuals

What We’re Looking For:

- Previous experience working in a mental health or social care setting is preferred

- Knowledge of mental health issues, treatment options, and support services

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong organisational and time management skills

- Compassionate and non-judgmental attitude towards individuals with mental health challenges

- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
