Job description

Do you see yourself working for a CQC-rated outstanding service? Douglas House is proud to be one of only 6% of the highest-rated mental health services in the UK and is part of Turning–Point, a leading Health and Social Care Organisation and a Registered Charity. We are located in a community setting near Didsbury Village, Manchester, with excellent transport links.

We care for 12 male and female service users experiencing severe and enduring mental health issues, offering therapeutic packages of mental health rehabilitation to both informal and detained individuals under the Mental Health Act.

Role Responsibilities

You will work alongside a diverse multi-disciplinary team including consultant psychiatrists, doctors, mental health nurses, art therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, support workers, project workers, and peer support workers. Your role involves developing therapeutic relationships with service users and helping them develop coping strategies and skills for independent living. Douglas House provides a unique environment with great results and a friendly, caring, and inclusive team.

We operate a self-rostering system, allowing flexibility to work around your commitments.

The Ideal Candidate

While health and social care experience or qualifications are desirable, we are willing to support the right candidate in gaining further qualifications. You must be an excellent communicator, enthusiastic about providing quality care, and possess strong people skills.

About Us

As a leading health and social care provider with over 300 locations across England, we pride ourselves on the quality of our services.

We operate on a not-for-profit basis, reinvesting every penny into our services and staff. We are committed to continuous improvement and enhancing the lives of those we support.

Benefits

We offer a total reward package tailored to individual needs, including ways to make your money go further, a culture of recognition, and career development opportunities.

You will receive 31 days of paid holiday per year, increasing to 33 days with each year of service, with options to buy additional holidays and spread the cost.
