Mental Health Support Assistant - Rowde

Key Information for a Mental Health Support Assistant:

* ASAP start

* Full-time hours

* 08:30-15:00 - Term-time only

* £85-100 per day depending on experience

* Based in Rowde

We are working with a delightful specialist school in Rowde who support young people aged 11-18 with Autism and other severe learning disabilities. They are looking for a compassionate Mental Health Support Assistant to join their wonderful team ASAP on a full-time basis.

As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will work with students, teachers and psychological professionals to gain valuable hands-on experience in the world of specialist education. The role of a Mental Health Support Assistant is perfect for someone who strives to have a meaningful and rewarding career in education or psychology. Your day would include:

* Supporting young people in the classroom on a 1 to 1 or group basis

* Working with complex social, emotional and behavioural issues to provide the best support possible

* Create a safe and supportive learning environment

* Support and encourage emotional awareness

* Develop and implement individual support plans in collaboration with educational staff

The right Mental Health Support Assistant will:

* Have experience working with young people - preferred but not essential

* Have a bubbly and outgoing personality

* Be someone who is capable of staying calm and compassionate in tricky situations

* Have plenty of patience

* Have a genuine passion to support young people with additional needs
