An established healthcare provider is seeking a dedicated Band 5 Community Psychiatric Nurse to join a multi-disciplinary team in Glasgow. An exciting opportunity for a Band 5 CPN to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the context of an Older Peoples Community Mental Health Team in South Glasgow. Initially based in Shawmill Resource Centre in Pollokshaws area of Glasgow. The team provide care for individuals mainly over the age of 65 with functional and organic illness. As an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team, you will work in a recovery focused, collaborative way, delivering compassionate care that upholds the values of NHS GG&C Mental Health nursing. Under the supervision of senior colleagues, you will develop your skills in formulation, implementation and evaluation of person centred, recovery focused care.
The post holder will have responsibility for the assessment of patient care needs and the development and evaluation of programmes of care. S/he will be expected to carry out all relevant forms of care in partnership with patients, carers and other professionals in line with agreed standards and Clinical Policies and without direct Supervision.
Participation in regular caseload supervision with a named Band 6 CPN will be provided to encourage professional development and allow for complex case discussions and support. The role also involves supervising the practice of and demonstrating procedures to, student nurses and unqualified staff as well as the mentoring of nurses undergoing basic nurse training.
The post holder will contribute to service development, participate in TURAS and other mandatory training requirements as well as complying with NMC code of conduct.
