Job description

Social Worker Role

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Review practices and processes, develop guidance and tools to support frontline staff.
  • Serve as a senior, autonomous social worker responsible for professional actions and supporting staff within your area of expertise.
  • Support community social workers through critical analysis, support, and professional development initiatives.
  • Provide leadership in social work, promote social perspectives within inpatient settings, focus on recovery, and advocate for ward residents.
  • Assist colleagues with complex matters involving the Mental Capacity Act and the Mental Health Act.
  • Offer advice on complex social care and housing issues related to ward residents.
  • Collaborate with inpatient managers across the NHS trust, identify new admissions, and update on discharge plans.
  • Lead specific aspects of team work aligned with local needs.
Requirements:
  • Social Work Degree
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS check within the last 12 months. If enrolled in the update service, you may be fast-tracked through our recruitment process today.
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if not currently held
