Archer Resourcing has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to join the Mental Health Team in Islington.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary mental health team alongside colleagues employed by the NHS and other agencies.
- Managing a caseload of service users with a diagnosis of either a mental disorder and/or dementia.
- Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of young persons and vulnerable adults in your care and those you come into contact with.
- Undertaking assessments of service users' mental health or dementia needs as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Supporting service users and carers to undertake self-assessments and access direct payments.
- Providing evidence at Mental Health Tribunals and Managers Hearings as required.
- Advising on welfare rights and making referrals to the Maximising Income Team when necessary.
- Building close links with legal and housing services to support complex and vulnerable service users, responding promptly with information and reports.
- Ensuring duties are undertaken in compliance with the Data Protection Act, GDPR, and other legislation, policies, and guidance.
- Performing duties as directed by the team manager or other senior staff, according to service demands.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Social Work
- Registration with Social Work England
- Knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and relevant social services legislation concerning adult clients, especially those with mental health issues.
- Enhanced DBS check within the last 12 months. If on the update service, you could be fast-tracked through our recruitment process today.
- Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if not currently held.

- Duration: 3 – 6 months initially
- Hours: 9 am – 5 pm, hybrid working
