The Barberry in Birmingham is seeking a Band 5 Research and Development Assistant on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role supports mental health research delivery, manages study documentation, and coordinates with clinicians, researchers and external partners to advance patient care.

Working within the Research and Development Department at the Trust, you will gain hands-on experience across studies in schizophrenia, mood disorders, dementia and more, building skills in research, data

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology or a relevant healthcare subject.
• Formal research training (this may be as part of a degree course).
• Knowledge of NHS ethical and R&D approval processes.
• Experience of working in an NHS environment with service user contact.

Responsabilités

• Support day-to-day delivery of mental health research studies and clinics from setup through completion.
• Maintain accurate research records and databases; assist with study documentation and approvals.
• Support participant recruitment and follow-up in line with regulatory standards.
• Coordinate study activity with researchers, clinicians and external partners to ensure smooth, timely delivery.
