Join a pioneering community mental health pilot with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Help reshape mental health care by supporting community services, managing referrals, and providing interventions like CBT and Mindfulness. Be part of a team dedicated to transforming lives through innovative care and collaboration with local partners.
Are you passionate about reshaping mental health care? Do you believe in the power of community, collaboration with community partners and the local voluntary care sector, inclusion, and peer support to transform lives? We’re launching an innovative community care centre inspired by world-class models like the Trieste Mental Health Community Network, Navigo in Grimsby, and Clubhouse models in New York and Brixton.
We have an exciting and rare opportunity to be part of a new community mental health pilot. This centre will have a major national profile with NHS England, who are hoping that the pilot will radically transform how mental health care is delivered in the UK.
We are looking for dedicated staff to help pioneer this revolutionary approach to care.
Applicants should have significant knowledge and understanding of Mental Health Law, including relevant legislation such as the Community Care Act (2015) and treatment legislation. The role involves providing low-intensity CBT and Mindfulness interventions under supervision, as well as psychoeducation to service users.
South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) offers the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK, including substance misuse services. We work closely with the IoPPN, King's College London, and are part of King's Health Partners. We employ around 5,000 staff serving a population of 1.1 million, with over 230 services including inpatient, outpatient, and community care. We treat approximately 5,300 inpatients annually and over 45,000 community patients across various boroughs. Working at SLaM provides extensive learning opportunities and the chance to be part of a globally recognized organization in mental health care.
Note: The role is initially based at 62 Speedwell Street, London, SE8 4AT, with relocation to 1 Heather Close, Hither Green, SE13 6UG in November 2025.
