Registered Mental Health Nurse

We are looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our well-established and experienced team at Birchwood, Oldham. The service is a 16-bed rehabilitation facility supporting both men and women from Oldham and surrounding regions. We specialize in helping individuals transition to independent community living after extended hospital stays or specialized services. Our team includes Registered Mental Health Nurses, Support Workers, Activity Providers, and others, working together to support recovery and goal achievement. We collaborate with community mental and physical health services to ensure the best outcomes.

In return for your dedication and hard work, we offer opportunities for growth, learning, and development as a Mental Health Nurse in a recovery-focused environment. We provide various training opportunities and the chance to gain diverse experiences across our organization.

Role Responsibilities

We aim to work in true partnership with those we support, identifying personal goals, offering opportunities, and encouraging full potential. Our goal is to reintroduce and maintain daily living skills alongside psychosocial interventions to promote independent living in the community with confidence.

You will be involved in activities such as clinical audits, acting as a Named Nurse, participating in MDT reviews, and contributing to the CPA process. As a professional role model, you will engage in clinical supervision, provide supervision to junior staff, and mentor student nurses.

The Ideal Candidate

As a 24-hour service, we seek an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to play a key role within the multidisciplinary team. You should demonstrate leadership and adaptability, handling situations calmly and professionally.

If you understand the importance of recovery and are passionate about helping people achieve their best, we want to hear from you. We offer a Preceptor Programme for newly qualified nurses.
