Are you a Mental Health Nurse (RMN) looking for a new challenge in Mental Health Rehabilitation?

Willow Ward is an 11-bed inpatient rehabilitation ward which provides a county wide service for female and male adults who require a high level of support and intensive rehabilitation; this is due to severe and enduring complex mental health conditions.

Willow aims to provide specialist, empowering and individualised care under the principles of recovery, which promotes social inclusion and works collaboratively with service users, their families and carers and relevant professionals. The service is led by recovery and rehabilitation values to offer tailored treatment based on comprehensive holistic assessment of clinical needs and risks

You will be integral to the multi-disciplinary team, providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitative interventions to our patients, working within a recovery focused service. There is a need to demonstrate a commitment to teamwork.Personal and professional development is a requirement of the post and will be supported through both internal and external training opportunities.You will be required to work rotational shifts within a 24 hour service and be required to work a proportion of shifts which include unsociable hours and weekends and may be required to work in other areas of the Trust to meet service needs.You'll be joining a supportive and friendly team that will make your transition into the ward an enjoyable experience.

Main duties of the job
  • To lead the clinical management of designated service users in assessing, implementing and planning nursing care.
  • To ensure that junior staff and students are actively engaged in patient activity.
  • To observe, report and record changes in the patient's physical, mental health and behaviour.
  • To work with the MDT in planning and delivering care.
  • To maintain working knowledge of legislation and guidance pertaining to mental health and learning disabilities.
  • To identify, provide and supervise the necessary physical care to patients to help them complete daily living activities. Personal care and daily living activities include personal hygiene, elimination, diet and fluid intake. clothing and laundering, manual handling, personal environment and maintaining rest and activity.
  • To identify and provide and supervise therapeutic activities, emotional support and stability to patients to ensure effective engagement whilst maintaining professional boundaries.

Qualifications
  • Registered with the NMC
  • Relevant degree or working towards
Experience
  • Required to develop the knowledge base in line with the KSF requirements for the post.
  • Experience of working within a healthcare setting, specifically with severe and enduring mental illness.
  • Experience of working in multi-agency services.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and to have undertaken post registration training.
  • Experience of supervising others.
