Birch Ward is a 16-bed mixed gender adult acute admissions ward providing treatment and care for a wide range of mental health illnesses for patients of working age.

Main duties of the job

1. Deliver high-quality clinical services to patients and their families.
2. Act as the named nurse for a group of patients, under the supervision of the designated responsible person.
3. Participate in therapeutic group work programmes.
4. Assess care needs and contribute to formulating individualised care plans based on negotiated goals and evidence-based interventions.
5. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide nursing interventions supporting patients in meeting their goals, and participate in reviews of progress, using appropriate outcome measures and involving patients and carers throughout the process.
