Location: South Wales, working with a well-established NHS Trust

Shifts: Late shifts (13:00 - 19:00)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our team for late (13:00 - 19:00) shifts within a respected and established NHS Trust in South Wales. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about delivering high-quality mental health care in a supportive and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate and person-centred care to individuals with a range of mental health needs.

  • Support registered nurses and other healthcare professionals in delivering care plans and therapeutic interventions.

  • Assist with daily living activities and promote independence where appropriate.

  • Ensure patient safety and dignity at all times, including the use of approved restraint techniques when necessary to manage challenging behaviours.

  • Accurately record observations and maintain up-to-date care documentation.

Requirements:

  • Restraint training (such as PMVA, MAPA, or equivalent) is essential.

  • NHS experience is mandatory please do not apply without prior NHS work history in a mental health setting.

  • Ability to work late (13:00 - 19:00) shifts consistently.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to care.

  • Valid DBS on the update service.

  • Full Right to work in the UK
