Job summary

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Activity Coordinator for a ward in the Warneford Hospital. The role involves coordinating therapeutic activities, engaging patients in physical and recreational programs, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote mental and physical wellbeing.

The post requires participation in PEACE training and flexibility to support service users across shifts within a community hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Active interest in delivering a wide range of therapeutic activities with all patients.
• Good interpersonal skills to work with patients, carers & staff.
• Time management and organisational skills to undertake activities.

Responsibilities

• Engage service users in physical and recreational activity appropriate to their individual needs and abilities.
• Plan and co-ordinate a programme of activity under the supervision and direction of the MDT.
• Organise and plan service user events in collaboration with MDT colleagues to promote inclusivity.
• Develop and use practical and technical skills with service users, either through your own identification of need or as suggested by MDT members.
• Work with service users to improve their mental health, physical health and wellbeing.
• Assist in identifying service user’s strengths and needs to plan and implement suitable activities for groups and individuals.
