Job Description:

Menswear Designer - Freelance (2/3 Days per week) - Kingston-Upon-Thames

Purpose of the role: We are seeking a Designer to join our team, responsible for designing the Pringle Outerwear and Wovens categories.

Responsibilities:
  • Design of woven categories including shirting, trousers, tailoring, and outerwear.
  • Prepare range and presentation boards for reviews and meetings.
  • Develop prototypes, reference samples, fabric swatches, sketches, and Pantones for design meetings.
  • Create technical sketches and packs for development.
  • Manage and update all design information through to final approval.
  • Maintain seasonal range sheets and records.
  • Suggest colour directions for garments.
  • Review and approve proto samples with the technical team.
Colour and Fabric Research & Development:
  • Develop seasonal colour boards aligned with market trends.
  • Source fabrics, yarns, and trims in collaboration with sourcing teams.
  • Select fabrics, trims, and colours fitting the mood boards.
  • Maintain and expand the internal material library.
Team Collaboration:
  • Work with technical teams to ensure accurate tech packs.
  • Adhere to critical paths and calendars, collaborating with internal and external teams.
  • Update VRPs and CADs; communicate effectively with overseas offices and suppliers.
Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with premium lifestyle fashion brands in wovens.
  • Excellent illustration, proficiency in MAC, Excel, Adobe Photoshop/CC.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and conceptual skills.
  • Understanding of brand strategies and collaborative work environment.
  • Strong colour and print sense.
  • Ability to analyze data and adapt to fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
