Job summary

University of Oxford seeks a head coach for the Oxford Men's Three's basketball team. The role involves planning and leading two weekly training sessions during Michaelmas and Hillary terms, and coaching all matches in the OBA league, plate and cup.

About the Team

The Oxford Men's Three's is a team containing both undergraduate and postgraduate students, competing in the Oxford local league and its associated competitions.

Last season, we reached the semi final of the Oxfordshire Basketball Association (OBA) Cup and we are looking for a head coach to help us continue our promising development into the future.

Oxford vs Cambridge Varsity Game (played on a weekend in February/March)

The OBA games are generally played in the evenings during the week with all games being played within Oxfordshire.

About the Role

The role offers a salary of £132.35 a week in Michaelmas and Hillary Term, as well as week 0 of Michaelmas Term (£2,250 annually).

The Head Coach will be expected to:

• Plan and lead two training sessions per week during Michaelmas and Hillary term.
• Attend and coach all OBA league, plate and cup matches (home and away). All travel costs for away games will be reimbursed.
• Assist in player selection and trials from late September onwards (Week 0 Michaelmas Term) in collaboration with the team captain.
• Coaches are required to hold at least a Level 1 coaching qualification and must have previous coaching or playing experience.

Please note: This is a self-employed, consultancy-based position. The University of Oxford will not sponsor or support visa applications for this role.
