Job summary

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is seeking a Mental Health Nurse to join the Gwynedd and Anglesey Memory Assessment Service (MAS) on a fixed-term/secondment basis for 12 months. The post involves managing a MAS caseload, including initial assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning within a MDT framework, in a largely rural setting.

The role requires autonomous working in clinics and home visits, with potential split between clinic and community duties.

Qualifications

• Qualified Health Professional (RMN) with registration.
• Evidence of personal and clinical development.
• Supervisory experience.
• Ability to lead a team with clinical and management leadership skills.
• Desirable: appropriate training in older persons mental health issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead an area of the MAS in the absence of the manager.
• Deliver diagnosis and formulate treatment plans together with robust risk assessments within Primary Care Older Persons Mental Health Services (West Area).
• Participate as a full member of the multidisciplinary team and contribute to the diagnostic process and early post-diagnostic support.
