Job description

Trinity College Cambridge is seeking to recruit a Members Accounts Administrator (Students and Fellows billing) to join the Finance Department.

Trinity College, founded in 1546 by Henry VIII, is one of the largest Colleges in the University of Cambridge, with some 720 undergraduates, 380 graduate students, 200 Fellows and around 360 non-academic staff. The beauty and size of Trinity's courts attract visitors from all over the world, but the College is also a thriving, modern community, which exists to give its members a rewarding, richly resourced, and intellectually inspiring place in which to pursue their education and research.

Working closely in a team of two Members Accounts Administrators and the wider Finance Department, you will be responsible for all aspects of billing for approximately 1,200 students and 200 Fellows, including accommodation, catering and tuition fees. You will process a high volume of receipts and payments, reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts, maintain accurate financial records and support robust financial controls. The role also includes producing reports, analysing and recording scholarships, awards and prizes, managing tuition fee administration and liaising with College departments, students, Fellows and the University on a range of financial matters.

You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the Members Accounts function, support knowledge sharing within the Finance team and assist with year-end activities, audits and reporting requirements. In addition, the role may include maintaining the College’s wine stock data, including stock movements and the year-end stock count.

Candidates must have experience of working with finance IT systems, ideally with Oracle NetSuite (although system training will be provided), together with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience of working with a wide variety of 'customers' is essential, preferably in the higher education sector, and a knowledge of tuition fees would be advantageous. In addition, the role holder must work with a high level of accuracy and have excellent communication skills. Accounting qualifications such as part-AAT qualified would be desirable.
