Job Description
Our client is a well-established contractor operating across major infrastructure and utility projects in the UK. They are currently seeking a MEICA Project Manager to join their team in St Albans.
Experience Required for MEICA Project Manager:
- Affinity Water experience.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively manage the MEICA team and third parties.
- A team player capable of coordinating project-related activities with clients’ consultants and third parties.
- Good organisational skills.
- Methodical approach with a focus on client, customer, and quality.
- Strong leadership qualities and a natural problem solver.
- Ability to work well within a team and individually.
- Prioritise a varied workload and demonstrate good time management to meet deadlines.
- Work effectively in a busy environment under pressure.
- Possess a “can do” attitude and support team members as required.
- Methodical, organised, with excellent attention to detail.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent (foundation degree HND, HNC).
- Experience (10+ years) managing and delivering multiple projects of varying complexity and value.
- Member of the APM, APM certified, or equivalent.
- SMSTS / SSSTS qualification.
- CSCS card qualification.
- First Aid qualification (optional).
Responsibilities of MEICA Project Manager:
- Proficient technical skills in the field and sector, with proven leadership of staff and operatives.
- Managing and reporting on operational and financial targets, programme management, and supply chain management including procurement and performance.
- Leadership in safety, wellbeing, and teamwork, interfacing with design, construction teams, and stakeholders.
- Ability to select and manage innovative methods, materials, and safe systems of work.
- Effective communication with senior management, designers, consultants, clients, architects, and project teams on technical matters.
- Deliver quality outputs within time, cost, and quality constraints to achieve project outcomes.
- Ensure staff development to a world-class standard.
- Manage contractors and key suppliers, ensuring quality, resource commitment, and value for money.
- Manage communication and engagement with stakeholders, maintaining key relationships and resolving issues.
- Overall management of the team and project activities, including health and safety standards, reporting, and escalation.
