Job summary

Village is seeking a Meetings & Events Team Leader / Assistant Manager to run a high-energy operation across our conference and banqueting spaces. You will lead shifts, coach the team, and ensure services meet our highest professional standards from planning to guest farewell.

You will deputise for the Manager, collaborate with the sales team, and help maximise profitability through excellent service and smart upselling while maintaining safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Shift & Event Leadership: Lead busy event shifts and coach the team to deliver excellence.
• Commercial & Financial Support: Review departmental performance against budgets and drive revenue across bar spend and wet targets.
• Tech & Setup Supervision: Operate AV equipment safely and supervise event kit storage and setup.
• Food & Drink Excellence: Upsell confidently to maximise shift profitability and guest satisfaction.
• Compliance & Audits: Conduct health & safety training, food safety checks, and licensing compliance.
