Job summary

Pictura Bio, an innovative MedTech start‑up, invites a hands‑on Mechanical Design Engineer to own defined work packages in consumables and platform development from Oxford (office‑based). You will advance designs from CAD to prototype and testing toward manufacture, collaborating across assay, optics, electronics and software teams.

Based in a multidisciplinary environment, you will spend time in the workshop and report to the Head of Engineering, with CPD investment and opportunities to grow

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in mechanical design or product development.
• Experience producing engineering drawings to BS 8888.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools as listed (Creo preferred).
• Familiarity with design for manufacture and tolerance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs for consumables and instrument assemblies.
• Create 3D models and drawings; perform tolerance stack‑up analyses.
• Prototype, test, and iterate designs in workshop; support external tooling.
• Integrate mechanical design with optics, electronics, and software across disciplines.
• Contribute to design verification and documentation in a regulated environment.
