Job summary

PICS Therapeutics Ltd in the UK is seeking an experienced engineer for the design, prototype manufacture, and testing of miniature brushless DC motors and controllers. Ideal candidates should have a PhD in Electrical or Electronic Engineering and experience with battery technology.

You will collaborate with technical staff and external partners to develop prototypes suitable for implantation and trials. Strong skills in CAD design and electrical motor simulations are essential.

Qualifications

Prior experience with battery technology is highly desirable.
Suitable visa for work in the UK.

Responsibilities

Design and optimisations of motors.
Control of off-the-shelf and/or ad-hoc motors.
Motor fabrications.
Finite element simulations.
Manufacturing processes and materials.
Working as a member of an agile engineering R&D team.
Medical technology.
Regulatory approval processes.

Skills

Electrical or electromechanical engineering

Labview

MATLAB

Soldering

CAD design (preferably Solidworks)

Electrical motor simulations (preferably Ansys Maxwell)

Understanding of electrical motor testing and evaluation

Understanding of electrical motor control

Writing of archival journal papers and presentation in conferences

Education

PhD or equivalent experience in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
