Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking a Lead Pharmacist, Medicines Safety Officer to lead medicines safety across the Trust, promote reporting of incidents and drive improvement. You will chair committees, coordinate safety initiatives and work with multidisciplinary teams to reduce risk.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Pharmacy and registration with GPhC
• Post-graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent
• Evidence of CPD and professional engagement
• Leadership/management qualifications or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Lead medicines safety across the pharmacy department and provide assurance to leadership
• Encourage medication incident reporting and learn from themes/trends
• Oversee action plans and risk management for reporting improvements
• Manage medicines shortages and contribute to decision making on new medicines
• Support governance, policy development and audit programmes
• Oversee EPMA and digital systems to improve medicines safety
• Lead internal and external communications on medicines safety and shortages
• Develop and implement the Trust strategy on medication safety
