Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support medicines management within a general practice setting. You will work under supervision with Practice Pharmacists and GPs to reconcile medicines, process prescriptions, and assist with monitoring and recalls.

You will contribute to patient safety, conduct audits, and support cost-effective, evidence-based prescribing across the team, collaborating with community pharmacies and other care

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician (GPhC) with NHS practice experience.
• Experience supporting medicines optimisation in primary care.
• Ability to work within practice protocols and with clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Support medicines reconciliation after hospital discharge.
• Process prescription requests per practice protocols.
• Assist with medicine monitoring and recall systems.
• Support prescribing safety, alerts and medicines audits.
• Provide patient information and signpost within competence.
