We have an exciting opportunity for a Medicines Management and Dispensary Technician to join our Pharmacy department at The London Clinic, based at our main hospital site in London (W1G 6JA). We are offering a competitive salary (Band 5 NHS equivalent) per annum dependant on experience.
Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK's largest private hospitals, with 8 state-of-the-art facilities, and circa 1350 employees where we are dedicated to providing our patients with expert, individualised treatment and care. Our main hospital spans 8 floors comprising of 150+ patient beds and 10 operating theatres, including a Hybrid theatre and two minimally invasive/day surgery theatres.
Job Profile
To participate in a safe, efficient and accurate, technician led pharmacy operational service across all sites at The London Clinic. This is a rotational post through Main Site Dispensary, Duchess of Devonshire (DDW) Cancer Services Dispensary, and MMT services.
The post holder will ensure that the Dispensary, MMT and Ward services are delivered in a safe, effective, economic and timely manner. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all documentation and procedures are carried out in accordance with current legislation and guidelines.
Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday; 9am-5.30pm
Job Location: 20 Devonshire Place, London, W1G 6BW (Close to Regents Park/Baker St tube stations).
Salary: Band 5 NHS Equivalent

Key Duties
To perform Medicine Management duties in allocated wards, i.e., assessing of Patients Own Drugs (on attaining the training if not already trained), drug history taking of new patients; near patient dispensing, discharge facilitation with counselling services, ordering of inpatient and one stop medicines (transcribing for supply) and annotating of drug charts (according to departmental policies). These activities will be supervised and performance assessments will be carried out until the candidate completes training and competencies.
To assist the ward pharmacists in providing a comprehensive patient counselling service to in-patients, particularly regarding their discharge medication.
To assist ward pharmacists and NMPs by providing advanced medicine optimisation with clinical prioritisation (on attaining the qualification).
Participate in the provision of a safe, efficient and accurate dispensing service to all pharmacy users, including the dispensing of controlled drugs and oral chemotherapy.
To support and direct the workflow of all dispensary staff, ensuring SOPs are followed and standards are maintained.
