The main purpose of this vacancy is to provide secretarial office duties such as transcribing medical correspondence, audio typing, undertaking mail and filing duties, retrieving patients' medical notes, scheduling theatre cases on the TOMS system, and dealing with patients, relatives, carers, and external partners on a day‑to‑day basis.
The post holder must demonstrate excellent typing/keyboard, communication, organisational, clerical, and IT skills; work independently and as part of a multi‑disciplined team; and have a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and NHS information systems (WPAS/Myrddin, TOMS, and referral to treatment principles).
They will manage the Consultant’s diary, prioritise results, organise clinical activity and patient admissions, liaise with patients, general practitioners, and other health boards/trusts, and maintain waiting lists in line with University Health Board policy.
Welsh Skills Desirable: Speaking & listening skills at Level 3 (CEFR B2) or above are considered an advantage for short‑listing.
