We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised individual to join our welcoming team in the General Surgery Department. In this role, you’ll work closely with an experienced Medical Secretary team, providing vital administrative support in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork, and making a real difference in the smooth running of our services.

You’ll be liaising with a wide range of people – from medical consultants and laboratory staff to patients and GPs – so excellent communication skills are essential.

You don’t need NHS experience – just the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment and a commitment to high standards. We offer flexibility in working arrangements and a chance to be part of a team that truly makes a difference.

If you're detail-oriented, confident using Microsoft Office, have strong typing skills, are eager to learn and ready to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Ensure that correspondence from clinicians is typed, edited and sent promptly and accurately, and keep track of diagnostic reports to ensure that patients receive their results in a timely manner.
  • To assist in the fast track treatment for patients with cancer and to ensure referrals to other healthcare professionals are forwarded promptly.
