A leading healthcare provider in Hornsea is seeking a dedicated Medical Secretary to join their busy GP practice. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive support to clinicians, manage patient referrals, and assist with administrative tasks while maintaining high standards of confidentiality and efficiency.
We are looking for a dedicated individual to join an established and efficient team of Medical Secretaries working in a busy GP Practice.
Offering secretarial support for 16000 patients, applicants must be hardworking and willing to go the extra mile. The workload is demanding and the successful candidate will need to enjoy a fast-paced environment, think on their feet and be flexible for office cover. The role requires someone with a keen eye for detail and proficient use of IT packages covering the Microsoft Office suite and clinical systems.

The team is led by 9 GP-partners, supported by Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Nurse-Prescribers, Long-term Conditions Nurses and Healthcare Assistants.
The clinical team is supported by well-trained Care Navigators and Administrators. The Hornsea and Aldbrough sites have in-house dispensaries.

Managing referrals through the e-Referralsystem. Understanding referral routes and use of relevant forms and templates
Carrying out assigned tasks fromboth clinical professionals and the wider team.
Dealing with patient enquiries
Inviting patients into thesurgery to discuss the results of recent investigations
Typing of clinical letters,patient referrals, non-NHS letters and reports
Arranging and assisting withmeetings including minute taking as required
At all times observe the strictrules of confidentiality
Familiarise yourself with theStaff Manual and follow practice policies and guidelines
