Job summary

The University of Surrey invites applications for the role of School Manager within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. You will lead the School's professional services, align operations with strategic priorities, and drive accreditation and quality assurance across teaching, placements, and assessments.

We seek a dynamic leader with substantial management experience, capable of steering complex stakeholder relationships within higher education and NHS contexts.

Qualifications

• Senior management experience with diverse stakeholders and demonstrated project and people management skills.
• Experience in strategic planning, delivering change, and building effective teams is essential.
• Experience in higher education, particularly medical education or NHS, would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the School and lead the professional services team.
• Develop strategic initiatives with the Associate Director and Founding Dean of Medicine.
• Manage relationships with NHS England and clinical placement providers.
• Drive GMC accreditation processes and maintain quality monitoring systems.
• Oversee budgets and provide management information for decision making.
• Represent the School on key committees and engage internal/external stakeholders.
