Job summary

NHS Golden Jubilee University National Hospital is seeking an experienced Assistant Service Manager to lead the Medical Education Division, overseeing undergraduate and postgraduate education across a nationally recognised NHS organisation. You will work with the Director and Associate Director to shape strategy, ensure high quality educational delivery and drive innovative services.

Qualifications

• Degree level or equivalent experience, with strong background in operational or service management.
• Experience supporting undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, staff and budget management, performance improvement, governance and service redesign.

Responsibilities

• Provide both operational and strategic leadership across the Medical Education portfolio.
• Lead service improvement initiatives and capacity/workforce planning.
• Oversee governance and quality processes and targets at national and local levels.
• Coordinate junior doctor and medical student programmes and teaching/training activities.
• Prepare performance reporting and financial oversight; contribute to service development.
• Collaborate with clinicians, educational leads, universities, NHS Scotland Academy and external partners.
