Job summary

Slaithwaite Health Centre is looking to appoint a friendly receptionist to join the current team. You must have enthusiasm for working in primary care and a genuine interest in working with patients to contribute to high-quality healthcare. We require someone for 26 hours over 3 days - Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.

Main duties of the job:

1. Working as part of the reception team
2. Answering the phone
3. Making appointments
4. Repeat prescriptions
5. Dealing with inquiries
6. Admin tasks
7. Updating noticeboards
8. Keeping the waiting area tidy
9. Attending in-house meetings
10. Keeping up to date with mandatory training

Job description

Job responsibilities:

• Work as part of a team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the surgery to deliver the best possible service to patients.
• Provide an efficient service to GPs, senior management, and other health professionals as required.
• Handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls to facilitate timely and appropriate communication and deal with queries to a high standard.
• Scan various documents (medical reports, hospital letters, referral forms) into the patient record and code appropriately.
• Work as part of the reception team, answering phones, making appointments, and managing repeat prescriptions.
