Job summary

Orbia Fluor and Energy Materials in the United Kingdom seeks a senior leader to head the Medical Products QC Team, ensuring a compliant analytical and quality control function to support the manufacture and sale of medical propellants.

You will manage shift analysts and analytical chemists, coordinate equipment maintenance, drive continuous improvement, participate in audits, and liaise with customers and suppliers while upholding cGMP and SHE standards.

Qualifications

• Desirable: Degree in Chemistry or related subject.
• Extensive experience in a QC Laboratory, operating to cGMP standards.
• Understanding of QC in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience managing a QC laboratory, preferably one working to cGMP standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift analysts, analytical support chemists and laboratory systems to deliver timely analysis and release of medical propellants.
• Plan analytical schedules to meet production and sales needs; prioritize during high demand.
• Coordinate calibration and maintenance of lab equipment to minimise production disruption.
• Support external audits and host audit activities; respond to findings and non-conformances.
• Oversee stability studies and drive continuous improvement projects within the Medical Propellants Laboratory.
• Engage with customers and suppliers on method transfer, analytical support and troubleshooting.
