Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking an Clinical Engineer Associate Practitioner (Medical Physics) based at New Victoria Hospital to support safe use of medical equipment across clinical services.

You will work with the Medical Equipment Management team on maintenance, repair, commissioning and decommissioning of diverse medical devices, contributing to patient care and tech-enabled outcomes within one of the UK’s largest health systems.

Qualifications

• Engineering or Technology knowledge at SCQF Level 8 or equivalent.
• Knowledge of electrical, electronic and general engineering principles.
• Experience of service, repair and fault finding of electronic or electrical systems.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, inspection and testing of low-risk medical devices.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs using approved procedures and tools.
• Commission, install and acceptance test new medical equipment for clinical use.
• Decommission medical devices per policies and procedures.
• Maintain records on the Asset Management System and ensure governance compliance.
• Support safety alerts and equipment-related actions.
• Collaborate with clinical staff, suppliers and technicians for service improvement.
