Job summary

Suffolk County Council is seeking a Specialist Learning Support Assistant (Medical Needs) to support pupils with complex medical needs across Suffolk. The role is 28 hours per week, term time only, with hybrid and community working.

You will deliver medical interventions, assist with daily care, and help pupils access education with strong safeguarding and documentation practices. Training is provided for medical interventions and you will work within a supportive team led by qualified

Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification or at least 2 years' healthcare experience.
  • Awareness and understanding of medical conditions such as epilepsy.
  • Experience of working directly with children and families.
  • Good organisational skills and clear, accurate record keeping.

Responsibilities

  • Support children aged 2½ to 19 with complex medical needs to access education.
  • Deliver medical interventions in line with healthcare plans (training provided).
  • Assist with moving, personal care, daily hygiene and nutrition.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality assurance.

Skills

Level 3 qualification
