Job Overview

We are looking for two Medical Laboratory Assistants to join our Microbiology team. The post involves supporting the department in providing diagnostic services, including data entry, manual, semi-automated, and automated technical procedures, handling telephone enquiries, store-keeping, stock control, and laboratory waste disposal.

The successful applicant must be conscientious, enthusiastic, and able to work well as part of a team and under pressure. Good communication and IT skills are essential. Relevant experience is advantageous; however, full training will be provided.

The laboratory provides a 7-day extended service. The successful applicant will be required to participate in the shift system.

Medical Laboratory Assistants play a critical role in examining Microbiological samples by receiving, sorting, labelling, and processing specimens such as urine, blood, feces, and swabs.
