Lab Technician Assistant, Lab Support, 32 Hours (Evenings)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician Assistant (clinical lab assistant/phlebotomist) for part-time evening shifts, 32 hours per week, with variable hours from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. The role requires every other weekend and rotating holiday availability.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage daily workflow of the laboratory section with minimal supervision.
  2. Train and evaluate new LTAs and phlebotomy students, and recommend skill assessments.
  3. Coordinate phlebotomy services, monitor reports, and ensure timely patient care.
  4. Perform duties of LTA, Phlebotomist, and/or CLA as needed.
  5. Ensure specimen collection accuracy, troubleshoot equipment, and manage specimens and reports.
  6. Maintain accurate records, inventory, and adhere to safety and quality policies.
  7. Participate in safety training and contribute to a professional, respectful work environment.

Qualifications

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Experience in phlebotomy and laboratory procedures.
  3. Preferred: Graduation from a phlebotomy training program and certification (ASCP eligible within one year).
  4. Skills in specimen collection, computer troubleshooting, and report handling.
  5. Ability to work independently, recognize when to seek assistance, and follow safety policies.
