Job summary

Sonic Healthcare UK is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant on a fixed-term contract for the Sample Reception team at Lister Hospital. You will perform routine preparation and testing under supervision, ensuring accurate handling of specimens and data entry into WinPath and Helix.

The role requires shift involvement to cover a 24/7 service and may include work with COVID testing. Training and development opportunities are provided along with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

Experience with pathology lab software such as WinPath and Helix.
Ability to perform routine preparation and tests.

Responsibilities

Perform routine preparation and tests under supervision.
Enter patient requests into the pathology computer system (WinPath and Helix).
Carry out clerical and technical tasks in line with sample handling procedures.
Assist in handling and distribution of incoming/outgoing goods, equipment, specimens and reagents.
Support on-site lab Helpdesk and shift coverage for 24/7 service, including COVID testing tasks.
