Job Description Summary
#LI-Hybrid
Novartis has a long-term commitment to Global Health, including communicable diseases like malaria and non-communicable diseases. Novartis first supported sickle cell disease (SCD) care over 50 years ago with the development of chelators for managing iron overload. While treatment options have increased, access has not kept pace. In Africa, it is estimated that 50-90% of infants born with SCD die in childhood.
Novartis BioMedical Research (BR) is the innovation engine of Novartis, collaborating across the company and beyond, focusing on new technologies that could lead to therapeutic breakthroughs. Translational Medicine (TM) is the clinical research arm of BR, with about 900 associates globally. TM plays a pivotal role in bringing innovative medicines to patients by developing new therapies and bridging drug discovery and clinical application.
The TM Discovery & Profiling (TMDP) group of physicians and clinical researchers drives science from discovery to patient, overseeing early-phase clinical trials to demonstrate safety and efficacy, and supporting later phases through pharmacology profiling. TM experts are integral members of global project teams, designing and implementing early research and discovery projects that culminate in clinical trials. They collaborate with biology and chemistry colleagues to identify disease targets with unmet needs and provide input on clinical development pathways.
As a TM Expert for Global Health, you will collaborate with the Therapeutic Area Head or other TM Experts to develop decision strategies for drug development projects and lead global cross-functional teams.
This hybrid role requires on-site presence at the Westworks London office three days a week.
